What if I told you, “faith in Jesus” is a RELIGION?

And just because you’ve spoken words, doesn’t change its definition.

If Jesus is just a relationship, why the book of laws?

By the definition of “Religion”, it’s a rule for cosmic cause

If Jesus is just a friendship, why push BELIEF of the unseen

Discount the delusions, “quote unquote” visions, and acid tripping dreams

So Jesus preaches FAITH, but there’s another thing I don’t understand,

How is rape, murder and HATE, forgiven by the torture of another man

No really, what does this say about our justice system?

That if I slaughtered 30 men I could free 30 in prison?

No really, how much does Jesus’ death ACTUALLY weigh?

If it just permits common evils, so long as they put faith in what YOU say?

No really, how do you justify a sacrifice

For progress, responsibility is the only thing that qualifies

Call me judgmental but more importantly call me decisive

Because there’s a problem when you sugar coat Jesus, it’s called misguidance.

In every other aspect of life you know your logic’s Swiss cheese

It’s like saying “we play basketball, but it’s not a sport, it’s a team…”

It’s like if Coka-Cola said Coke is Coke and not a soda

Or if this isn’t actually a phone, because it’s really Motorola

Honestly I’m sick of this — this loss of words kills production

If you’re going to convince, do so with logic, not rhythmatic seduction

These are crucial times we’re living in, give me reason or give me death

Don’t take away the beauty, just take away the rest.

The following’s not to you, but let me address all concerned

Our hope’s not with Christ, but human RELATIONS we must learn

This much we can agree on, a Revelation is soon at hand

But how we interpret the cause of this unveiling should strictly be with man.

Again, as a message to ALL, let our mortality make us hunger

Quest for knowledge, Quest for love, for without these we are plundered.

I can’t stress this enough, it is deeply on my conscious

I know I’ve made my decision, but tell me what your response is.

Your checkmate christianity post made no point at all against any of the fundamental teachings of the religion itself. You don't throw loosely quoted facts that are not in the Bible to disprove the Bible. You take parts of the Bible that are fallible and tear it apart at the seams. How about this one: In Genesis, the Tree of the Life and the Tree of Knowledge are separated. So how can you expect to learn any knowledge at all about life from it?

They may be “loosely” quoted, but they are facts of the bible. God did kill 50 kids with bears. God did split the languages. etc.

If parts of the bible are fallible, then accepting it as a whole is fallible. Sure, there are some good things like “don’t steal/rape/murder” but I’m attacking the god story they are suggesting, not every moral teaching.

You say “from it”. I can only assume you’re referring to “the tree of knowledge”. If this tree were to grant knowledge, what problem would the TOL (tree of life) being separate from the TOK (tree of knowledge) present? The TOK just gives knowledge in this case. The TOL gives life. Their functionality isn’t dependent on unity.

  • Jesus’ death did nothing.
  • What’s so special about blood
  • dinosaurs … meant to suffer? funny. I thought all animals were plant eaters at the beginning (according to the bible)
  • is free will random?
  • what good does knowing of a god do now. People will have the wrong motivation to be good.
  • Splitting the languages… oh yeah, not such a hot idea. What’s wrong with reaching the skies? We just did it like 40 years ago, and you didn’t do jack nothing.
  • So you mean to tell me that in 500 years, we made Japanese people, Indians, whites blacks Native-Americans and more? … African imports were 200 years ago, yet they still look the same.
  • “freewill” (whatever that is) has no inherit value. So why install it?
  • your prophecies don’t require divine wisdom or intervention.
  • Suddam Hussein (an Arab) pitched a couple tents in the city of Babylon.
Not to mention Alexander the Great.
  • Your chastity neglects biological needs. Biological needs you claim originate with god.
  • Where does disease come from?
  • God says man can not guide their own foot step, but if we’ve had supernatural intervention the whole time, what proof does he have?
  • So what happen to the other books of the bible? God make some edits?
  • You really need to kill 50 kids with bears?

Just wanted to wrap this into one nice little bundle.

How would you like the world to be? AND what are some immediate events that you would like to see take place in order to bring the world to that state?

My controversial ideas are within this link.

So long as you ignore the references to “the four corners of the earth” (easily exchangeable with “the cardinal directions”) and “the pillars of the earth” the bible was pretty right on when it talks about the earth hanging from nothing and being round. Though some may humanize this and say that the stated fact was an easy guess because everything else they saw in the sky was round, and hanging upon nothing.

Jeremiah 23:27 talks about god knowing how people will try to erase his name. No, it’s not completely eradicated. But it’s quite curious as to why it was stripped out during translation.
“Don’t use my name in vein” doesn’t mean don’t use it at all, in fact not using it is more damaging to his desire to be worshiped.

Rabbits are chewers of the Cud.

All of these things are mostly out of human reach. I doubt anyone studied rabbits that much and then decided to put that in the bible.
A lot of non-believers will also try to insist that the Hebrew word describing the earth meant STRICTLY like a disc or flat circle. To this, I say “spare me”. But at the same time I’ll have to admit, “Where the hell are these pillars coming from?”. I can understand 4 corners = 4 cardinal directions. But “pillars” is really beyond me.
I also think it’s quite a stretch to insist that “Don’t use my name in vein” is what really battered away god’s name (Jehovah)
The phrase itself is saying “Don’t use my name wastefully” which REALLY DOES imply USE IT EFFECTIVELY… which means USE IT.

Figured I’d write this just to let others know I’m not neglecting due credit.

BTW: I’m not saying that the bible was right about the picture. I’m just putting that up there because that’s what I’ve come from.

It’s quite arrogant to baselessly assert that the entire universe revolves around your race and its sex culture. But It’s also quite arrogant to assert that your race is the closest to godhood

Just got out of a creation(christian) vs agnostic debate.

Their main arguments:

  1. Something exist, therefore god exist
  2. Finely tuned universe
  3. Objective moral values mean god exist
  4. Jesus is in the history books.
  5. He predicted others will come after him that have the same divine mission.

My counters:

  1. Something exist, doesn’t mean that god had to start it
  2. Replication is the only requirement for life. If the universal constants were different push and pull would just be different. Because push and pull laws allow for the perpetuating reactions between particles a replicating system can emerge with a variety of laws.
  3. Morals are subjective
  4.  There are many people (even in recent times) that claim to be sent by god. They too have followers.
  5. There were people before Jesus that talked about a better afterlife. The topic of “where we came from, what’s our purpose” was hot so predicting it requires no divine skill.

And then we digressed, and then I had to depart.

Hopefully we will continue in the future.

This is an evolution simulation. Pretty simple. (not immediately intuitive though)

We humans are gettin’ pretty advanced, eh?

So much that we could probably start making our own forms of life.

When we get to that point, what would be more likely? Stumbling upon new life, or seeing something we’ve put into existence already?

Just a thought

Stasis in Fossil Record

commondense:

There are three major problems with the fossil record.

1. The first is that the fossil record shows species originating abruptly. This contradicts the predictions of Darwin’s hypothesis. His hypothesis calls for very many intermediate forms gradually grading from one species to another. But instead the record shows the opposite - species arise abruptly.

2. Secondly, the geologic record shows that species do not change significantly through time. For millions of years they remain constant - with only minor and random change. This also contradicts the predictions of the hypothesis of Darwin.

3. The “Cambrian explosion” represents a period in which most of the current phyla [broad groups of life forms] all appeared in a very short geological span of time. This also seriously contradicts the hypothesis of Darwin.

The problems with the fossil record are more extreme than it might seem. The evidence of the fossils is in stunning contradiction to Darwin’s theory. Generally this contradiction is not well known and so I have attempted in this newsletter to bring out the details.
