If the universe goes back forever and will last forever then why isn’t there a race that has dominated our plot in space? How can the universe go back forever if all matter makes associations to separate objects? At some point a state would need to be defined in order to calculate the state before or after. How can such a state have a beginning if there is forever “before” and forever “after”? Or is the universe operating someone like a function on a line graph? Where all you need is the function definition and a value for x?

If the universe had a start point. Then what is time? If there can’t be a “before” before the beginning, then how did this thing recognized as “time” evolve?

If everything IS all at once, then… what is this thing I experience called progression?

Why do I have the feeling that marijuana will answer this question?

I’m not presenting these as new ideas/questions/thoughts. It’s just bugging me, because I feel like the self sustaining logic is JUST out of reach. I can figure this out. I really can.

They may be “loosely” quoted, but they are facts of the bible. God did kill 50 kids with bears. God did split the languages. etc.

If parts of the bible are fallible, then accepting it as a whole is fallible. Sure, there are some good things like “don’t steal/rape/murder” but I’m attacking the god story they are suggesting, not every moral teaching.

You say “from it”. I can only assume you’re referring to “the tree of knowledge”. If this tree were to grant knowledge, what problem would the TOL (tree of life) being separate from the TOK (tree of knowledge) present? The TOK just gives knowledge in this case. The TOL gives life. Their functionality isn’t dependent on unity.

Imagine if you understood your friend down to the edge of their reduction (or at least down to the quantum or atomic level)

Would it be difficult to see them still as an emotional attachment?

If you know too much, can your ability to emotionally attach be crippled?

I was going to write a long note on this…. about some of my views and such, but I have to work on something very important. So I’ll just bring out 1 quick point.

If we are nothing more than our components, would you care for a clone that has the same memories as your dead romantic interest?

Hopefully I said that well, but if not:
Imagine we kill your family (oh joy)
Now imagine we clone them (regenerating their full previous form) from other matter.
Are those the same people?

Believe it or not, this happens every 10 seconds (or is it minutes?) on the quantum level. Our quantum components are cycled out at LIGHTNING SPEEDS (technically faster)

I know some of you have thought about this before. The idea has been expressed in enough Science fiction that it would permeate the entire (my entire) relevant population.

Right now. My ignorance of myself and my ignorance of you is what keeps me emotionally limited.

Some don’t realize it, but this is why those may deny robots the status of “life”.
When we build a robot, we understand it; we see it breaks down to nothing more than it’s components.
When we build a friendship, we don’t fully understand it; the pool of mystery is what has been mistakenly defined as “the soul”.

I can’t believe people actually believe clouds come from water on the surface. No one can show me STEP by STEP how water from the ground flies all the way up to the sky.It HASN’T BEEN DONE.Some guy tried to show me that you can make mini clouds in lab. He boiled some water and showed me how the steam rose to the top of plastic dome which was a mini cloud.

THAT IS NOT A REAL CLOUD!!! THAT’S A SMALL CLOUD! YOU CAN’T TAKE MICROSCOPIC CASES AND USE THEM TO PROVE LARGER SCALE ONES!

They thought they were being real clever when they asked “where do clouds come from then?
“I said “The horizon”,
they persisted with “and before that”,
and I said “They just appeared” …

And now some of you are probably wondering where the water goes and why we’re not all swimming in one large ocean. It’s because it disappears! Have you never boiled an egg and watch the water level drop? If you don’t catch the water it just stops existing. It fades away.

Unfortunately they didn’t realize it.
The only way that a “free will given” robot can make a decision is with the components it is built from and the information it receives from its environment.

If we are nothing more than our components (which is the case) then the only way for Satan to become evil was because something influenced him from god’s “perfect” environment.

Here is one interesting sequence I went through:

“Why did satan do the first bad thing?”
“Because he had a bad heart that wanted god’s position”
“Isn’t the want a bad thing? Ok, that was the first bad thing, what started that?”
“He was letting his emotions out of control”
“Ok, so wait, that was the first bad thing… How in the world did his emotions get out of control?”
“Free will”
“Is free will just random? If so, wouldn’t that mean that god subjected everyone to random chance of screwing up and being damned as the ultimate evil?”
“No, it was Satan’s choice…”
“Satan’s choice are developed somehow… HOW IS THAT?”
“free will”
“How does free will work if it’s not random and it’s not based on anything predictable?”
“It’s what you want it to be”
“Do you understand that our entire brain is the sum of it’s components?”
“Yes”
“If we make a bad decision, it’s because those components were in a bad order”
“Right”
“Who made our brains and satan’s ability to think?”
“God”
“So did he make them out of order?”
“No, it was free will”
… need I go on?

“Those components are what dictate his decision, so how can he want them to if his want is derived from those components?”
